Proven effectiveness of Murprotec AHUs against radon

Proven effectiveness of Murprotec AHUs against radon

Radon is a natural radioactive gas present in the subsoil of many Swiss regions. In nature, it is diluted in the air and does not represent a health risk but in indoor air it becomes a real danger not to be taken lightly. Radon gas penetrates easily through the smallest cracks of a house’s foundation slab, through its joints...It will accumulate in the indoor air, especially if the house is well insulated. It can then reach concentrations that exceed the thresholds set by health authorities.

Radon is a significant health risk as it is recognized as one of the leading causes of lung cancer after smoking.

This study was conducted on three buildings with different characteristics. For each of them, it measured the initial radon levels and the radon levels after the installation of Murprotec AHUs.

The report concludes that the efficiency of all Murprotec air handling units ranges from 72 to 96%. The radon levels were reduced up to 20 times compared to the initial concentration and, in all cases, reduced to a level below the tolerance thresholds set by health authorities..

The exclusive Murprotec method in 6 steps
Murprotec, a manufacturer and European leader of definitive treatments for humidity problems and indoor air quality, has also developed expertise in diagnosing the causes of excess moisture and in the implementation of solutions. More than 68 years of experience throughout Europe have enabled Murprotec to develop this efficient and complete method: from making the right diagnosis to the recommendation of the solution and the execution of the works by qualified professionals.
Step 1

Indoor and outdoor measurements of humidity and air quality, and taking samples if necessary.

Step 2

Analysis of the data and identification of the real causes of the humidity problem.

Step 3

Detailed expert report on the results of the analyses and recommendations for appropriate treatments.

Step 4

A technical visit before the intervention by applicators and installers to ensure its smooth running.

Step 5

Murprotec’s experts carry out the works and follow up with a dedicated contact person until completion.

Step 6

Verification and control of the waterproofing and disappearance of humidity 18 months after the end of the work.
